The cruelty is the point, and this time they’re doing it by causing confusion. This week, Trump rescinded guidance that said that EMTALA, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, requires hospitals to provide life-saving abortions to pregnant people. But guidance isn’t law, which means that hospitals are now unsure how to proceed. On this episode, we chat with OBGYN physician assistant, Nikki Vinckier, about how this move will sow chaos for doctors and how all of us can fight back against it by telling everyone that EMTALA is still the law of the land.
